AI Technology Being Used to Predict Future Crimes

Artificial Intelligence (AI) technology is being employed for numerous astounding projects.

However, the plan to use this technology in Argentina sounds like the plot of a science fiction film.

Argentina’s security forces have announced that AI technology will be used to predict future crimes.

This concept was depicted in the 2002 science fiction film ‘Minority Report,’ where humans connected to computers could foresee crimes before they happened and display them on screens.

The Argentine government has established the Artificial Applied to Security Unit, which will use machine learning algorithms to analyze past crimes in order to predict future ones.

This unit will also monitor social media and utilize facial recognition software to identify wanted criminals.

Officials have stated that this new unit will use AI, machine learning, and other technologies to identify crime trends to prevent crimes from occurring.

On the other hand, human rights organizations have expressed concerns about this unit.

Experts contend that creating such a unit infringes on human rights, as extensive surveillance could hinder freedom of expression.
